William Latham

William R. Latham “Bill”, 60 of Rockport, TX passed away December 25, 2019. Bill was born March 22, 1959 in Dallas, TX and was raised in Mesquite, TX. Bill was the son of Tommy and Shirley Latham who proceeded him in death. He was the youngest of three children, with older brother Richie Latham and sister Marla Latham Ramos.

Bill was known by many names, Dad to his daughter, Crystal Latham and Pappy to his two grandchildren, Jayde Witt and Jaxon Lee. Brother to his two siblings and sister-n-law, Cheryl Latham.  He was called Uncle Bill by nephew Adam Rike (Cami & Harmony), his nieces Ashley Gill (Cody), and Whitney Guzik (Steve).  Bill was called nephew and cousin by numerous people.

Bill attended Mesquite High School.  He later moved to Rockport and worked as an oil field gauger until health issues forced him to retire. Bill was a hunter and enjoyed fishing as well.  It has been said the reason he enjoyed deer hunting every year was because there was always a group of family members and close friends he hunted with, so many good times and memories.

Following his wishes, there will not be a service, but well-wishers are encouraged to write his name on a Bud Light can and drink it in his honor.  He was never one for sentiment, but if he owes you for a beer or a drink, and you can find him in Heaven, he will gladly let you buy him another. One of a kind, he will be missed.

Family and friends are invited to a get-together to remember Bill on February 8, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at the Lamar Volunteer Fire Dept., 302 Bois D Arc, Rockport, TX. 78382
