Travis Lee Smith, age 88, passed into his eternal heavenly home on June 10, 2021, in Corpus Christi, Texas, by natural causes, not from Covid-19.

Travis was born in Rockport, Texas, on June 24, 1932, to Sadie and Somer Smith of Rockport.  He graduated from Rockport High School and attended Texas A&M and Texas A &I Universities, before being drafted into the United States Army.  Travis lived in Rockport, Rivera, Kingsville, and Agua Dulce, Tx before moving back to Rockport for retirement in 2000.

Travis worked in the oil and gas industry for most of his life, starting as a roughneck and worked his way up to superintendent.  After 5 years working in the North Sea, Travis began working at FESCO, Inc in Alice, performing construction and maintenance of all production equipment in addition to senior well tester on high profile jobs.

Travis married Lola Jean Ballou on July 4th, 1958. He was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church in Rockport, Texas.  He was the oldest member of that church, becoming an elder when he returned to Rockport.   He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He thoroughly enjoyed Texas A&M sports, particularly football!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Somer and Sadie Smith and his daughter, Theresa Smith Jones.

Travis is survived by his wife, Lola Jean Ballou Smith, his sons Layne (Brenda) Smith and Craig Smith; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Clay) Williams; Cody (Valerie) Smith; Colton (Ana) Smith; and Courtney Smith; his great-grandchildren, Nathan Terhune; Maddie Terhune; Sophie Williams, and Natalie Smith; one brother, Charles H (Sandy) Smith.
