Stephen Dean Siler got his angel wings on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. Steve is survived by his wife of 38 years Tricia D. Siler.

Steve was born on Christmas Eve, 1941 in Ripley, California. He was raised by his paternal grandparents in Oklahoma. Steve worked on a ranch with his father until he joined the military in 1957. Very soon he was the youngest private at the time to become Sergeant. Steve proudly served his country for 22 years in the army, serving five tours in Vietnam. His team was the first group to be designated for special ops service.

Steve earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal 6th Award, the Expert Rifle (M14 & M16) Medal and the RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm.

Steve was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and served as a Commander of the Klute VFW. He also belonged to the Aransas Pass VFW and the American Legion Post 363 Where he served as a treasurer.

Steve met Tricia in El Paso, Texas and they married on January 26, 1981. Steve spent most of his military career overseas so when he retired, they spent time traveling the United States and then moved to Rockport, Texas to live near the beautiful beach. Steve loved old cars and his little dog, Honey Pot. Steve spent much of his time listening to current events.

Private memorial service is pending.
