Safaryat Mohammed

Safaryat Shaffie Mohammed (Moe) 80 years old, passed away at home on May 9, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born September 25, 1941, in Trinidad and Tobago to the late Shaffie Mohammed and Saliman Mohammed.

Moe and Lynnette moved their family from the US Virgin Islands in 1978 to Portland Texas where they planted roots 44 years ago.

Moe retired from Valero as an advanced refinery operator where he was the third person hired for the company. After retirement he spent his time hanging out in his wife’s pizza and ice cream shop at the Corpus Christi trade center. The many weekends brought among many lifelong friends and adopted many grandchildren through his love of giving away ice cream. He was often described as an angel and a man known for helping and doing good for others. You could find him spending time in his recliner watching and cheering on watching and cheering on his Spurs, Steelers, and Astros.

Moe leaves behind his loving wife, of 58 years Joycelin Lynn Shaffie. Their four kids, Lennox Shaffie his wife Laura, Shelly Shaffie, Cindy Shaffie Reichel and her husband Rob and Clint Shaffie. 5 grandchildren Kendra and husband Anthony, Zachary, Cody, Alyssa and Kamryn and future great-grandson Liam.

Moe will be missed by each and everyone who knew him. He was a great husband, dad and peepaw!

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass.  The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm also at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Gregory Cemetery.
