Aransas Pass

Robert “Bobby” Floyd Davis, 62, passed away June 30, 2022. He passed away peacefully in his home with his beloved dog, Xena by his side. Bobby was born February 26, 1960 in Aransas Pass, Texas to Larry and Nancy Seymour Davis. He moved to Appleton City, Missouri in 1971,where he obtained his High School degree, and found his love and talent for football. He was eventually faced with the reality that one cannot play football forever, and found his sea legs early on in life. He worked as a Shrimper, Fishing Captain, and Tugboat Captain for the duration of his career. During his career, he met many lifelong friends who enriched his life, allowing him to live and experience in one lifetime, what some fail to achieve in 10. During this time, he obtained his cherished nickname: “Captain Bob.” Captain Bob, above all else, was a father who wanted nothing more than to watch his children grow and succeed in life. He enjoyed playing “Cowboys and Indians” with Calvin and Cindy, Native American history, being on the water, and anything Science Fiction. His greatest loves of all were his children, grandchildren, and dog, Xena.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Calvin Davis, Bubba Smith and Dwayne Shedd. Captain Bob leaves behind to honor his memory, and to keep the beer bottles and laughter passed around, his six children, John Mircovich, Shannon Davis, Spartacus Davis (Bonnie),Sarah Rose Davis (Anni), Alexander Davis, Vivian Davis; siblings, Cindy Clark (James),Rebecca Shedd (Dennis), LG Davis, Stoney Bock; grandchildren, Jarred, Zayden, Journee, Elijia, Peyton, Keri, Calvin; numerous nephews, nieces, family, and friends.

His wishes upon death were to forgo a wake and funeral. Rather than mourn the loss of his life, he requested a celebration of life, where we remember him fondly for who he was and the impact he left behind him. He will be cremated, and his ashes spread over his brother’s grave. He impressed upon his children that when he died, he would be with his brother Calvin, and that was certainly nothing to be sad over.
