Obituary

Rickie Eugene Cates,59, went to be with the Lord on September,09, 2022. Rickie was born to parents, Vernon and Connie Cates in Pampa, Texas, on September 13,1962.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Shauna Seale and her husband Graham Seale; grandchildren, James Aidan McClain, Addison McClain and Wyatt Seale; sister, Kim Charles and her husband Malott Charles; nieces, Melissa Thomas and her children Nicholas and Jackson Thomas, Marcie Cates and her children Riley and Taylor Patterson; nephew: Dusty Cates and his son, Colton Cates.

He is preceded in death by parents, Connie Dorthelia Cates and Vernon Odell Cates; brother, Vollie Glen Cates.

Rickie never sat still and always had something going on here or there.  He lived all over the place and was often found under the Friday night lights during football season watching his grandchildren or nephew doing their thing.  He would pick up and go at the drop of a hat to help a friend or just because he got bored and needed a change of scenery.

Rickie had many extended family and friends all over the place that he considered to be part of his family.  He absolutely never met a stranger, and he loved everyone like they were part of his own.  He always took care of the people around him and gave selflessly.  He was an incredibly kind and generous man.  He wanted everyone around him to be happy and live life to the fullest, and he was willing to jump in and help you figure out how to make that happen.  His grandchildren were his whole heart and if you spent any time at all with him you knew how proud he was and how he lived for them. Rickie and his sister were best friends and those memories will forever be cherished.  He will be remembered always and live on through his family and friends.
