Richard “Dick” Hampton Harbin, 82, of Rockport, Texas passed away September 12, 2022.  Richard was born to Tilghman and Helen (Duckworth) Harbin in Beeville, Texas on May 13, 1940. He left this world peacefully after battling Parkinson’s Disease for over a decade.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eliceia Gardiner Harbin, and is survived by his children, Lane (Caroline) of Corpus Christi, Kirk (Christine) of San Antonio, Amy (Manuel) of Excelsior, Mn.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Austin, Kelsey, Heather, Manu, Raul, Carlos and Pablo, and brother David Harbin of Plano.
Richard, otherwise known as Mr. Harbin to many who attended CCISD schools, was an administrator at both the high school and middle school level. He was dedicated and cared deeply about education and his students. Upon retirement in 1998, Richard filled the role of adjunct instructor in the student teacher program at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. He continued in active roles as president of Spanish Woods Homeowners Association and Aransas County Retired Teacher Association.  Richard’s most cherished role was that of husband, father, grandfather and brother and friend. A small family gathering is planned to celebrate his life at a later date. To remember Richard, donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research are appreciated.”
