Richard Anthony Herman passed in the early morning hours of June 3, 2021, at his home in Rockport, Texas.  He was born on March 7, 1939 to Dorothy Sue and Francis L. Herman, Jr. in Owensboro, KY.  He was raised in Ingleside and lived much of his adult life in San Antonio before retiring.  After serving his country in the United States Air Force, he began a career in automobile sales in Denver and later settled with his family in San Antonio.  He was a skilled negotiator and successful salesman eventually establishing his own automobile wholesaling business.  After his retirement, he became an avid trader of guns and knives which he continued to do until his death.  Richard was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockport.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Frank, his sister, Sandy Valls, niece Linda Marie Valls, and a previous wife Pamela Severance.

He is survived by his daughter, Carrie (Doug), and son, Tony (Diana); four grandchildren; brother-in-law, Richard Valls; nephews Rick (Brenda) and Laurence (Tiffany) Valls; niece, Cerise (Jason) Weeks; numerous grandnephews and grandnieces; as well as his special dog “short stuff”.
