Raymond Mayes

Raymond V. Mayes went to be with the lord July 13,2021. He was 80 years old and will be terribly missed. Raymond was born on May 5, 1941, to Raymond and Rosie Mayes, in Austin, Texas. During his high school years, he was a state champion and went on to college on a baseball scholarship and eventually graduated from the University of Texas. He spent a short time as a marine. After this time as a marine, he went to work for IBM, where he retired from. Raymond received many awards for his work with IBM. Raymond was one of a kind. He loved fishing, hunting, playing golf, going to casinos and dancing. Boy could he dance, and when the crowd cheered for him, he beamed from ear to ear.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Lee Gove Mayes, his two daughters, Laura Jaeger, husband Joel and his two grandsons, Harrison Jaeger and Grant Jaeger, who he was so proud of. His daughter Melissa Sprague and her husband Bob. His brother Bobby Mayes and wife Nancy. Their two children Jim Bob his daughter Mackenzie Mitzie and her son Carson. His son in law Michael Gove, his wife Denise and their daughter Violet, who he dearly loved. His extended family, Cayden Trevino and Chassity Trevino who called him Grandpa Raymond. Raymond had a heart of gold and loved all. Will miss him.
