Randall E. Kemper, 61 of Rockport, TX passed away on Saturday, September 12th in his home. He was born on May 11, 1959 to parents Sarah (Barrow) and Grant Lewis in Houston, TX. He moved to Rockport in (2004) from Austin. Randy was a Real Estate Developer.

Randy was skilled at handyman work, earning the title “Handy Randy”. He had many hobbies- fishing, playing guitar, reading nonfiction, welding unique creations, learning about History, and admiring art. He was an avid cyclist and supported this passion through his charitable contributions to create safer areas for riders, by virtue of “Share the Road” signage he contributed to. He was a supporter of the community, donating to the Rockport Center for the Arts as well as the Odyssey School, Camp Aransazu and the Rockport Humane Society. Among his most treasured pastimes were playing with his lab Marley and making his wife, Roxann, laugh. He took great pleasure in spoiling her and found joy in her smile.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Roxann Day of Rockport, TX.; son Brandon Bailey of Austin, TX.; daughter Angela Bailey of Austin, TX.; brother Edward Kemper of Ashland, OR.; sister Amy Kemper of Northampton, MA.; and grandson “Teo” Gray Cardenas of Austin, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother Lee Kemper.

A Celebration of Randy’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Rockport Humane Society, where he insisted on Marley being adopted.
