Philip “Flip" Edward Burleson, 75, passed away at his home in Port Aransas, Texas, on May 30, 2022. Flip was born January 19, 1947, in Norfolk, VA, to Philip and Lenagene Burleson. The Burlesons were a military family having lived in Maryland, Japan, Alabama, Germany and Virginia. Flip graduated from Kaiserslautern High School in Germany in 1965. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He went to farrier school at the famous Seybold Ranch in Mineral Wells.
Flip married the love of his life, Denise Fox, January 16, 1975, in San Angelo, TX. He spent almost 30 years in Port Aransas working as a carpenter and contractor. He lived life on his own terms, enjoying the things he loved. He was an expert craftsman, fisherman, and marksman. He loved dogs more than most humans.
Flip was deeply loved and will be missed by the community of Port Aransas, many special friends, and especially his wife Denise.
Flip was preceded in death by his parents.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two brothers, Rick (Darlene) Burleson of Washington, VA; and Don (Laverne) Burleson of San Marcos; sister Melissa Burleson of San Angelo; several nephews and nieces; special friends David and Renee Motta, and many amazing friends.
A celebration of Flip’s life will be held at a later date.
