Ingleside

Norma Frances Vance, a retired long-time resident of Ingleside on the Bay, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the age of 76.   Norma was born in Mexia, Texas on May 30, 1944.

Norma enjoyed traveling with her husband prior to his passing in 2008.  They traveled and camped all over the United States and parts of Mexico and Canada.  She loved playing slots at various casinos on their travels.  She was fun loving and enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the Ingleside Beach Club and the Bahia Marina.  When her children were growing up, the family went on lots of fun adventures, riding motorcycles, canoeing, snow skiing, and camping.

Norma and Malcolm were owners of several businesses from the late sixties until 1995 when they retired after selling their successful petroleum business.

Norma is survived by her children; Terri Taylor (Scott), Shawn Vance (Shannon), and Malcolm Vance III; her grandchildren, Dawn Taylor Fair, Kayla Taylor Mapes, Preston Streight, Haden Vance, Maegan Vance, and Kelsey Vance; her brother, Robert Lamprecht (Patsy) and her sister, Lynette Edwards (Mike).  Norma also had four great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Malcolm W. Vance Jr; her parents, Mary and Norman Lamprecht; and her sister, Betty Sullivan.

The family would like to send out a special thank you to her good friend, Katie Hatch, her caregiver, Paula Chadwick and Harbor Hospice for making Norma comfortable during the various stages of her illness, allowing her to spend her final years and days in her home as she wished.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 25, 2021 between 2 pm and 4 pm at Charlie Marshall’s in Aransas Pass.  Masks will be required.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations The Alzheimer’s Association on her behalf.
