Norma Dunnahoe

December 6, 1934 — January 11, 2021

Aransas Pass

Surrounded by her dearest loved ones. Norma J. Dunnahoe passed from her earthly to heavenly body on January 11, 2021.

Norma entered this world in Sparks, Oklahoma on December 6, 1934 and soon thereafter her family relocated to Texas. She grew up in the Corpus Christi area and discovered her enjoyment of music at an early age. Norma learned to play the accordion and piano and her love of music continued through high school where she was active in the marching band and performed the duties of head drum major.  1953 was a banner year for Norma because in addition to graduating from Bloomington High School, she also met and married the love of her Life, Leonard.

Leonard & Norma traveled about to various Texas cities before settling down in Ingleside in 1968 where they chose to build their life and raise their family.  Norma was a stay-at-home mother, caring for and nurturing her young children. However, as they grew older, she started to work outside of the home in various jobs.

Norma had many hobbies, but her favorite was sewing and quilting. Many family members have beautiful quilts made by Norma which will live on as a lasting and loving memory of her. In addition to sewing, Norma loved to travel and took many adventurous and laughter-filled trips with her sister and best friend, Margie.

Up until the time of her illness, Norma was an active and faithful member of North Bay Fellowship.  She worked with the “Piecemakers” to make quilts for those less fortunate. Above all, Norma was a woman of strength – strong of faith, strong of family, strong in her sense of community, love and loyalty.  She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.  She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents Glennor and Gertrude Stewart, her baby sister Patricia Ann, her much beloved sister Margie Zimmerman, and her son-in-law Conway Hutto.

Norma is survived by her husband of 68 years, Leonard Dunnahoe., her three daughters Patricia Wagner (Laddie “Doc”) Wagner, Belinda Hutto, and Jackie (Kip) Fay, her grandchildren Russell (Kelsey) Wagner, Sarah (Mike) Raffay, Emily (Dean) Kittel, Abigail Fay (fiancé Brian Gallagher) and three great-grandchildren Noah Raffay, Hannah Raffay and Katherine “Kit”Wagner.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 pm all at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home-Aransas Pass.

There was a time when I was free

To live my life in harmony,

Before the illness, which blighted me,

Swept faces and places from my mind,

People I loved from my memory.

Remember me as I used to be.

Think of me; remember my smile,

The love we shared; linger awhile.

I am at Peace now, I am me.

At rest for all eternity.
