Naomi Cole

August 14, 1952 ~ February 18, 2023 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Our beloved Naomi Lynne Cole passed away Feb 18th, 2023, surrounded by family after her long battle with cancer. Naomi was born in East Texas, on August 14th, 1952, and became a resident of Aransas pass in 1965. In her younger years, Naomi loved her horses, barrel racing, being outside and spending time with her dad.

Naomi Married Gerald Cole on June 4th, 1973, and have been married 49 years. Being newly married, Naomi loved going to dances with Gerald, taking their horses on trail rides, especially the South Texas Trail Riders which she enjoyed for 4 years, and spending time with her sister Rita, and her husband Johnny.

Naomi was a passionate and dedicated mother to her two sons, always going above and beyond. She loved watching every single sports game, supporting their extracurricular activities, taking them camping to the river, and giving them a great childhood.

Naomi’s passion soon moved to her grandkids, where there was no other love like “Nana’s love”. Nana was the greatest grandmother to her 4 grandchildren, she hosted so many sleepovers, baked every single cake for their birthdays throughout the years, was right on the sideline at every sporting event with a camera and a hug, and made every holiday, especially Christmas, the best. Naomi became a great-grandmother in February 2020, and her great-grandchildren were her absolute world. She was so in love and proud to have those two in her life.

Naomi was the heart of the family, always hosting holidays and family gatherings. She loved when her family was together. She enjoyed cooking large meals, baking desserts, and gardening. Naomi had a story for every plant she had and loved walking around the yard telling them. Naomi loved reading and always had a book wherever she went. She would make frequent trips to the library to scope out new books to read. She enjoyed her career at CCMS where she spent over 20 years being a great and dedicated coworker. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

“Goodbyes are not forever; Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you until we meet again.”

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Fay Irons, Sister, Rita Rushing & nephew Joe Rushing.

She is survived by her loving Husband, Gerald Cole, Sons, Gerald (Misty) Cole, and Randy (Jennifer) Cole, Her grandchildren, Journey, Jordan (Lucia), Dylan, and Jocelyn Cole & her great Grandchildren, Julianna Naomi & Dean Price Cole.
