Margaret Susan Ralph Hammett (Peggy), passed away on June 28, 2021. She was born June 16, 1939, in Highland Park, IL., to Mildred and George Ralph.

Peggy earned an Associates of Arts Degree in Dental Hygiene from Del Mar College. Later, she earned both a Bachelor's of Science degree and a Master's Degree from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She taught special education in the Corpus Christi Independent School District until her retirement in 2010.

Peggy was an accomplished artist, an amazing cook, and she loved to read. She loved being outdoors, as well as taking care of animals.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; and best friend, Amy Duncan.

She is survived by her children, Stephanie Hammett, Susan Wittner (Melissa McBurnett), Grady Hammett (Karrol Houser), and Christy Hammett Bryant (Terry Smith). Sister,Deborah K Smith (Terry); She will be missed dearly by her grandchildren, Alena Roberts, Kendra Rittgers, Desiree Thompson (Chris), David Ritters (Celeste), Chester Rittgers (Shana), Brandon Wittner (Kami), Justin Wittner, Grady Hammett III, Nathan Hammett, Taylor Simpson (Thomas), and Annie Bryant; and her 15 great-grandchildren; nephews and niece, Kai Adkins (Amanda), Kristopher Adkins Callie) and Georgia Thamaravelil (Mathew).

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport.

The family would like to thank Rockport Nursing and Rehabilitation and the nurses at Drs Regional Hospital for their care and dedication.
