April 21, 1942 — March 16, 2020

Houston

On the morning of March 16th, 2020, Lynette Mullenax of Rockport TX went to be with the Lord Jesus at the age of 77.

Lynn (Lynny) Mullenax was a dual American-Canadian citizen, born to Alvin and Estelle Ott in 1942 in Buffalo, NY.

She was a devoted servant of God and a full-time wife and mother. Her love of the Lord, her family, and her country was reflected by her dedication to all of these, in everything she did. Lynn was bright and intelligent, with a passion for learning, her memory was razor-sharp, and her penmanship was second to none. She was a strict but loving mother and raised her six children with patience.  She loved to tickle, laugh, do crossword puzzles, and play board games.  She was dedicated to reading books to her children and praying with them before bed each night.

She found joy in the simple things in life, Twizzlers, Dr. Pepper, drives in the country, and she loved when her children picked flowers and blackberries for her. She spent hours of her summers outside tending to her gardens. For many winters her sister was a mainstay in  her life. Sharon and her husband Bill would drive down from Canada each winter, staying the whole winter helping around the family home, providing great company, and attending church services regularly. Later in Lynn's life, we had special help in caring for our sweet mother, in addition to her children, her granddaughter Kayla Alvarado and our close family friend, Christi Brooks were by Mom’s side night or day. We are forever grateful for the love and support they gave her.

Lynn is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harvey Lee Mullenax, her son Daniel Lee (Danny) Mullenax, her stepson Jimmy Mullenax and her parents, Alvin and Estelle Ott.

She is survived by her children: Ellen, Jennifer, Harvey, Dawn, and Mark, 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, 5 stepchildren, John, Marilyn, Donna, Janelle, David, and many step-grandchildren, and also by her siblings Rebecka, Archie, Thiel, Tekelya, Marlaine, Lucille, Sharon, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews of Canada.
