Jimmie went peacefully to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 18, 2020. She was born on June 5, 1931 in Cleburne, Tx to Leon and Julia Booth Borden. She graduated high school from Cleburne High School in 1948 and married her high school sweetheart, Merle Looper, on July 3, 1948. They were married 64 years. She worked many years for Foster Testers in Odessa, Tx as a bookkeeper. She became a leg amputee in 1970, however it never stopped her from living life to the fullest. With her husband, she traveled to every state in their motorhome.
In the early 70’s, Jimmie moved to Corpus Christi where she took painting lessons and painted several beautiful beach and gulf paintings. Jimmie was beloved by family and everyone who knew her. She was that very special person. Jimmie was giving, selfless, and loving. She was a prayerful lady for family and friends. Her greatest joy was to be with her family. She will be greatly missed.

Jimmie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merle Looper; sister, Marjorie Gilley; and grandson, David Smith.

She is survived by her son, Dan Looper(Tabi) of Puyallup, WA.; two daughters, Linda Smith and Susan Zieglar(Ed) both of Port Aransas, TX.; her brother, Lonnie Borden(Maria) of Cleburne, TX.; grandchildren, Heidi Harris(Justin) of Colorado City, TX., Brooke Atkins(Timmy) of Spring Branch, TX., Halie Looper, Seattle, WA., Lisa Castillo(CJ) of Renton, WA.,  Ed Zieglar Jr.(Sarah), Amanda Templeton(Tim), Jinny Davis(Frankie), all of Port Aransas, TX.; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in Port Aransas at a later date.
