Jack "Buck" Davis

On Saturday June 5, 2021, Jack “Buck” Dave Davis was released from his pain and is now perfect and full of joy in Heaven. He was born on August 8, 1929, to Andrew Davis (Captain Jack) and Ruth Pearl (Rasor) Davis.

Buck was born and lived most of his life in Rockport, Texas. Retiring from the United States Navy, after 23 years of service, he went on to retire from CP&L (AEP) after 19 years of service.  Although he was not ready to retire, he enjoyed the time to work in his yard and fish whenever he wanted!

Buck married the love of his life, Gloria. Buck and Gloria’s family were great friends, and they grew up together and loved each other unconditionally throughout their 61 years of marriage.  Gloria was introduced to his sister, Milly, as soon as they were born. Buck loved and dedicated his life to his immediate family, his Church family, and that showed in his dedication and loyalty to them, his friends and work.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his son, Brian; and two sisters, Cissy Sharp, and Mildred Brundrett.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Gloria Davis; daughters, Denise Dauth and Kathy Kirby; sons-in-law (whom he considered sons) Jeff Dauth and Chris Kirby; his sister, Ruth Ann Crawford; grandchildren; Kyle, Collin and Kori Kirby, Dylan (Antionette) Eaker and Dalton (Hailey) Eaker; with extended family to include Whitney (Emilee), Zach, Nathaniel, Oakley, JC, Adalyn, Xena, Sabastian and many close family members.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m., with family present from 12 ~ 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2021. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport. Interment to follow at the Rockport Cemetery, there will be no service at the cemetery, but anyone wanting to join the family is welcome.
