Helen Sacchi Statesir passed away on February 19, 2021 in Portland, Texas at the age of 90. Helen was born May 30, 1930 in N.Y. City. She was raised in Freehold, N.J. where she graduated high school in 1948. She married her high school sweetheart, William A. “Bill” Statesir, Jr. on September 23, 1950 and was a super homemaker and volunteer.

The couple’s three children, William, Mark and Joyce grew up in Woodstown, N.J. and the family moved to Portland, Texas in 1973 where Bill was assigned to the new Dupont plant in Ingleside, TX. They later lived in Rockport for 25 years where she was a very active volunteer at Castaways Thrift Shop, Presbyterian Women’s Association, Presbyterian choir, Harbor Oaks Women’s Club, Rockport Home and Garden Club, Ocean Waves Square Dance Club and the Women’s Committee of E.M.S. She enjoyed music, playing the piano, R.V.ing, square dancing, gardening, reading and needle work. She and Bill retired to the Carriage Inn in Portland in 2006. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Churches of Rockport and Portland. She was a loving and proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother! The happiest moments of her life were when her family enjoyed times together.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Scott and brother, Milton Sacchi.

She leaves behind her husband, Bill of Portland; sons, William C. (Tommie) Statesir of San Antonio, TX, Mark D. (Beth) Statesir of Kingwood, TX and daughter, Joyce L.
