Fredrick Marshall

Fredrick Elventon Marshall, age 87, passed away in the early morning of September 11, 2022. He was born February 1st, 1935 to Fred Warren Marshall and Mary Katherine Cox Marshall in Corpus Christi, Texas. Fred grew up amongst his many cousins and family in Corpus Christi and Lake Mathis. He and his parents moved to Oatmeal, Texas in Burnet County when he was in high school. There he made lifelong friends and developed a love of arrowhead and artifact hunting. After high school he joined the United States Air Force and was trained as a Russian linguist during the Korean conflict. Upon his return from Germany, he graduated from Southwest Texas State College with a degree in Chemistry. In San Marcos he re-discovered fishing, which became a lifelong passion. After a year of teaching chemistry at CC High School, he was hired by Celanese Chemical Co., then Coastal States Refinery, Howell Refinery, and later at Saber as plant manager. His professional career spanned 60 years until his retirement in his mid-seventies. He and his beloved wife, Linda, found their dream piece of property on the Lamar Peninsula and built a home together. Their place is fondly referred to as “The Marshall Republic”. He was a veteran, a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for over 50 years, and a true American. He loved his family, friends, Texas, and the United States of America. He lived a long and wonderful life devoted to the pursuit of living an intelligent lifestyle and one without wasteful consumerism.

Fred was preceded in death by his son, Charles Warren Marshall, his mother, Mary Katherine  Cox Marshall and father, Fred Warren Marshall, his sister Marianne Kuenstler and nephew James (Jimmy) Kuenstler.

He is survived by his wife, Linda and their children, Benjamin Marshall and Megan Marshall. Son, Michael Marshall and daughter-in-law, Jean Marshall and beloved granddaughters, Laura Marshall De Morest and Jennifer Marshall; daughter Karren Marshall Davidson and son-in-law Peter Davidson and beloved granddaughters, Kalyn Davidson Finck and Bethany Davidson. His nephew, Jason Kuenstler and his wife Terri Kuenstler.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport. Funeral services will began at 2:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home located in Rockport.
