Aransas Pass, Texas

Ezekiel Tomas Ortiz, 17, gained his wings on January 21, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Surrounded by his family, he passed peacefully in his sleep. Zeke was born on January 9, 2004 in Corpus Christi, TX to Angela Fiebig and Joe Ortiz. A robust and passionate individual, he was known for his engaging humor, big appetite, quick wit, and loving heart. He had an unsurpassed passion for sports (Who Dey?) and proudly managed the Varsity Football and Baseball teams at Aransas Pass High School. He loved music, video games, all animals, but, more than anything, his mom and dad-who never left his side.

He was loved and supported by a vast community who admired his determination, courage, and zest for life.

He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Tomasa Vasquez Moreno and Deborah Eileen Fiebig, as well as his lifelong best buddy and faithful dog Salvador.

He is survived by his mom and dad, brother Ryan (Devyn) Claybourn of Fort Worth, sister Gillian Claybourn of Portland, numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and supporters. A proud uncle, “Uncle Zeke” is also survived by his nieces and nephews-Madisyn, Carly, Jack, and John, as well as his girlfriend Kiersten.
