Ernestina Olivarez

Ernestina “Tina” Abundez Olivarez was born on December 29, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.

She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter Nancy Vela, grandson Angel Vela and parents Julian and Juanita Abundez.

Tina will be forever remembered by her husband of 49 years, Cirildo “Chalo” Olivarez and her children, Maricruz (Rudy) Gonzalez, Christina Vela, Cirildo (Jessica) Olivarez Jr., Yolanda Olivarez, Nina (Ray) Davila. Tina will also be fondly remembered by her 12 grandchildren Savannah, A.J., Christa, Merissa, Alexa, Alana, Jakob, Andres, Joshua, Brandon, Cody, Scarlett and 18 great-grandchildren.

Tina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.  For many years leading up to her passing, she collected many antiques. She had a large library of cookbooks and novels. She loved to watch cooking channels, game and mystery shows during her spare time. She was a dedicated sports fan who loved her Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs. She also enjoyed baking and being outdoors in her garden. But most of all she loved music.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and funeral service conducted by Pastor Ed Davila on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas followed by a graveside service at Prairie View Cemetery.
