“Raggy Loy”

1947-2021

Elliott Carothers Loy, Jr. passed away on Thursday, February 4th, 2021. He was best known by his nickname “Raggy”. Born in Houston, October 10th, 1947 to Elliott C. Loy, Sr. and Ethel Marie Kelly; Raggy graduated from Westbury High School and attended the University of Houston.

Residential construction became his career. He began in Houston under the direction of his father who was a well known builder. Moving on in his career he worked for Westchester Corporation in Houston, Conroe and Wimberly. After many successful years Raggy decided to move to Rockport where he made his home, continuing his career in home building and commercial construction.

He passed away peacefully in the company of his daughter Courtney Boyd. Raggy leaves behind a sister, Linda Morris-Brogan of Houston, a brother, Craig Loy of Houston, several nieces and cousins and his companion, Lindol Plaag. He also leaves behind a lifetime full of wonderful friends who were like family to him; Jody Smart, his best friend whom he claimed was “the son he never asked for”, his lifelong friend Don Morris, mentors, Myrteel and Tom Ward and Amy Higgs whom he loved as another daughter. His passion was fishing, hunting and telling wild stories. Raggy was a man larger than life, who never met a stranger.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
