Rockport

Edwin Dallas Bradshaw was born in Rockport, TX on February 8, 1935, where he built his home 50 years ago and lived until his passing.

Edwin Bradshaw is survived by his wife Shirley of 70 years, his son Mark, daughters-in-law Rhonda Bradshaw and Rena Hartman, and a grandson Michael and his son Thomas.

Ed or Cap’n Red, as he preferred, enjoyed nothing more than spending time on the water… usually fishing – personal or professional. He also enjoyed hunting, creating things, and supporting his favorite sport teams.

He built several boats in his back yard- all from memory and knowledge gained over the years. He used his boats for personal or professional use depending on the design of the craft.

In his professional life as a tow boat captain many said, “there was none better,” and also stating he was a “born natural” on the water. He achieved his captain license in Corpus Christi, TX with a perfect score.

He imbued a passion for the way Rockport/Fulton was when he was younger, as do others that live their lives where they were born watching time rewrite the life they loved. He talked hunting and fishing as if all he had to do was to step outside and start hunting or fishing.

Life was not exactly easy for Ed, as he endured the passing of two sons Brad and Robert and two daughters Mona and Deborah.

He will be favorably remembered by all, his family, and friends.
