Dorothy Mack

Dorothy J. Mack of Rockport, TX passed away at the age of 60 on June 27th 2022. She was born in Kingsville, Texas on July 16th 1961 and later moved to Rockport, Texas with her mother Dorothy Gaines and father B.R Gaines.

She attended Rockport-Fulton school district then meeting the love of her life Howard Mack in December 1977 they later married on December 14th 1984 and were happily married for 38 years. A fter countless hours of schooling and training s he became a licensed EMT/Intermediate  for Aransas County EMS for 15 years and saved multiple lives and devoted herself to helping the community.
She then pursued her career as a Aransas County Tax Officer for 10 years before opening her own business Palm Liquor in Rockport with her husband Howard  Mack for 12 years then later retired.

Dorothy loved classic hits from 60s to the 80s and country music, she loved her dogs Kassie, Ethan and Oliver, she loved shopping and going on lunch dates with Aaron and Lesley. She loved sitting outside with her husband talking and smoking their Salem cigarettes pondering life and planning for better health to come. She loved everyone that visited including her niece Jennifer, Jocelyn and Pookie.
She loved gardening and planting flowers on her porch it was her happy place to sit on her bench and water her plants and watch for birds at her feeders. She loved hosting parties and celebrating her loved ones, no one ever left hungry from one of her parties either.

She was preceded in death by her father B.R Gaines and mother Dorothy Gaines, Brother Ronald Gaines and sister Linda Lee.

She was survived by her Husband Howard Mack, her loving Son Aaron Mack, Daughter in Law Lesley Mack, Niece Jennifer Lee and daughters Jocelyn & Jessie Lyn, Brother Bobby Gaines; sister in law Betty Jean Gaines; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

"Live laugh and love" is her legacy

Family will be hosting a Celebration of Life to celebrate Dorothy at a later date.
