Deborah Moss

October 26, 1953 — December 26, 2021

Deborah Sue (Susie) Moss passed away December 26th 2021. Susie was born October 26, 1953 to Robert Lowell and Dolly Jones in Fort Worth Texas. Susie married the love of her life Arthur Moss of Aransas Pass, Texas. She left school early to raise her young family. This didn’t deter her from continuing her education and achieving her goal of being a teacher and providing for her family. She obtained her GED then her bachelor degree in education. She taught at Kieberger Elementary in Aransas Pass Texas while studying at Texas A&M to obtain her master’s degree. She taught at Fulton and Live Oak Elementary in Rockport Texas where she became a counselor. She headed a group working with at risk children which received the 1000 Points of Lights award by the office of President George HW Bush. She worked tirelessly to provide these children a chance at a normal childhood and a healthy start with their education.

Susie was stricken with rheumatoid arthritis and lupus which crippled her body, but it never deterred her from playing a pivotal roll in her children and grandchildren’s life while continuing her professional career. She never missed any of her grandkids events. After her husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer she could be seen pushing his wheelchair around MD Anderson hospital in Houston. As Art was giving up Susie pushed him to try "one more thing". Art is now in remission.

Susie leaves behind her loving husband of 48 years Art Moss of Aransas Pass, son Sammy Moss of Rockport and Bernie Moss of Corpus Christi. Grandchildren Richie and Chantz Moss of Austin Texas, granddaughter Chelsea and her husband Nathan Miller of Midland and their children (great grandchildren) Aaron and Caspen. Brother John Paul Jones and his wife Terry of Arlington, step mother Floyedelle Jones of Neches, Texas and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother Robert, her mother and father Dolly and Lowell Jones and Stepfather Richard Moss.
