Aransas Pass

It is with great sadness that the family announces that on Saturday, December 28, 2019, Christopher John Vergara, loving father of Autumn, 9 and Timothy, 10, passed away at the age of 42 as the result of a vehicular accident striking his motorbike.  He was born June 15, 1977 in San Antonio, Texas to Juan Vergara, Jr. (Laredo) and Sylvia Apodaca Vergara (Aransas Pass). He is survived by his brother Michael Vergara, Aunt Elva Guerra, stepmother Patricia Ramon Vergara, uncles Rudolph Apodaca II, Johnny Apodaca, Quito Ramirez Apodaca, Joe Longo, nephews and nieces and numerous cousins.

A Navy Veteran, Christopher served 10 years as a Seabee (CM 3 - E4).  Chris was passionate about his career as a heavy equipment construction mechanic.  He was respected, knowledgeable and dedicated in his trade.  His hobbies were fishing, building and modifying F Body cars with the LTI & LS engines. He always had a project car around such as a Trans Am or Z28.  His most happy times were just hanging out with his loved ones.

Chris had a gentle loving heart, and playful nature. If you were a family member or had his friendship, you were always in his heart and he kept in touch with you even through the years or distance.

A celebration of his life and viewing will be held on Friday, January 10 at Charlie Marshal Funeral Home, 2003 W. Wheeler, Aransas Pass Tx. From 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. The memorial mass is Saturday, January 11, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 342 S. Rife St., Aransas Pass Tx.
