Charles Richie

Charles Everett Richie, age 80, of Rockport, Texas, passed away August 28, 2021 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He was married to Patricia Lynne Richie for over 60 years.

Surviving besides his wife are his children, Robin Stewart, married to David Stewart, Charlene Mohrle, and his son Charles E. Richie, Jr. married to Tiffany Richie; his three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

‘Charlie’ was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He met his wife ‘Lynne’ in high school and moved to Lake Livingston, Texas to become a fishing guide after his three children were born. He started Backwoodsman Magazine in 1980 and moved to Westcliffe, CO with his wife and son in 1988. After living in Colorado for seventeen years he was drawn back to his home state of Texas. He loved traveling and went on numerous cruises with his wife and family over the years but was most passionate about fishing.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him including his pets at home.
