Cecil W. Thorn, 87, a resident of White Rock, New Mexico, passed awat peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2019 in Rockport, Texas. he was preceded in death by his parents Fred and May Thorn; brothers, Keith, Linus, Louis; son, Cecil W. Thorn Jr. and daughter, Tammy Thorn Ledford.

Cecil served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the Destroyers USS Hanna and USS Moore. Upon leaving the Navy, Cecil met and married the love of his life Carol in 1957. Together they raised their three children Don, Tammy and Billy in White Rock, New Mexico.

Cecil worked and retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory's Protective Force, and then retired after many years of additional service from the University of California, in the Laboratory's Tech Areas.

Cecil loved fishing, especially the Lakes Charette, Eagle Nest, and Heron of Northern New Mexico. He was a dedicated and talented Fisherman as those who fished with him will tell you "he caught fish when nobody else was catching fish".

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Carol; son Don (Molly); brothers Charlie (Karen), Wayne/Corky (Versave), as well as grandkids, Michelle Thorn, Melissa Thorn, Victoria Rivas, Donald A. Thorne and Cully Reid.

Cecil's wish was to have no services upon his passing. The family of Cecil W. Thorn has entrusted the care of their loved one to Charlie Marshall Funeral Home & Crematory in Aransas Pass, Texas.
