It is with deep sorrow and hearts full of love we say goodbye to our mother, and friend to many, Ann Parker Melton was born February 6, 1937 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Bertha Belle & Dudley Parker Sr. She passed away peacefully on the evening of March 1st at the age of 86. Ann was an incredible woman and accomplished much in her lifetime. She danced in a New York ballet company and spent a year in a Russian dance troop. She went on to teach dancing for 56 years in Aransas Pass, Portland & Sinton, touching the lives of countless children in the community who lovingly gave her the name "Miss Ann". She was in the Buccaneer Court of Beauty contestants and graced the cover of the State of Texas road map. Ann was one of the first women in the Coastal Bend to earn her pilot's license. In her later years, she owned and operated Par-Mel Screen Printing & Sign Company. She gave of her time to the community in many ways. Ann worked with the Chamber of Commerce of Aransas Pass, was on the board of Tri-County Crimestoppers and worked with the Housing Authority for low income housing. She was a woman of many talents including wood carving, stained glass, gardening, fishing, hunting, horse riding and painting.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Dudley Parker, Jr. (Pat) and James "Buddy" Parker (Norma) and her husband, Lonnie Melton. She is survived by her brother, Joe Clements (Bev Oman), her son, Gary Tinnerman (Sherry), her daughter, Tasha Pate and granddaughter, Kadance Smith and several nieces and nephews. If you knew" Miss Ann" you knew she never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace. There will be a visitation at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home on March 7, 2023 from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a funeral service starting at 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Graveside service to follow at Prairie View Cemetery.
