Allan “Wayne” Flenniken, 77 of Rockport, Texas left us to be with God March 22, 2020. Born December 30, 1942 in Kenedy, Texas to Cdr. W.M. “Pat” Flenniken, Sr. and Ruby “Gem” Newman, Wayne served several years with the Texas Department of Public Safety as a Trooper.  Wayne served his country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Coast Guard and spent many years as a Sheet Metal Journeyman.

Wayne was a resident of Rockport for 55 years where he met and married the love of his life Linda Eller Flenniken. He loved fishing, watching and feeding birds (especially hummingbirds). He was a Master Gardner and volunteered on local projects. Wayne also loved collecting old coins and old bottles, playing games, and working puzzles. Wayne was a kind, hardworking, Christian, family man who loved helping others, even strangers.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by:  wife Linda; sons Patrick and wife Susan; Richard of Rockport; Adam and wife Kasondra of Robstown; siblings: Lynda and Steve Ables of Kerrville; Nancy and James Hill of Austin; W.M., Jr. “Bill” Flenniken and Jennifer of Arkansas. Sisters-In-Law: Carla Hanks of Rockport and California; Sue Sorenson of Rockport, and numerous nephews and nieces.
