Abel Aguilar

Abel Yanez Aguilar, 72, went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2021. Abel was born on November 06, 1948, to parents, Manuel and Angelita Aguilar.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Guadalupe, Jessie, and Ruben; and son Abel Aguilar Jr.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Elvira Lucio Aguilar; daughter, Elma Olivarez (Fred); stepchildren, Christopher Lucio (Mayra); Andrew Lucio (Monica); Mary Varela (Robert); brother, Alfredo Aguilar (Becky); and sisters, Alicia Solis (Lino); Irma Deleon (Ray); Ida Reyes (Alfredo); and Luz Risinger- Rodriguez (Jerry); 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 fur grandbabies and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was born in Mississippi but raised in Ingleside, Texas, where he graduated from Ingleside High School. Abel started his career as certified meat cutter in his early 20’s while living in San Clemente, California where he had a long and successful career in the grocery business. Abel then relocated to Pasadena, Texas where has lived for the past 20 years. Abel joined the Kroger family in 2009, where he happily retired in 2020. Abel loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Through most of his life he enjoyed the fast pace work environment but as he got older he enjoyed the peacefulness and good conversation while sitting outside taking in the sun and listing to music. Abel loved his t- shirt and jeans and breakfast tacos in the morning. Abel had the most amazing sense of humor his smile and laugh would light up the room. Abel will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7:00p.m. On Friday, April 9, 2021 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2p pm. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church, Gregory Texas. Interment will follow at Gregory Cemetery in Gregory Texas.
