Woody Davis

WOODY JEAN WILSON DAVIS

February 3, 1935 – September 26, 2022

Woody was born to parents Woodrow and Jeanette Wilson in Dallas, Texas.  The family relocated to Houston where she attended Reagan High School and met her future husband, Dave K Davis.  Woody and Dave married in 1955 and eventually settled down in Plano with their three children, Paul, Carol, and Steve.

After attending Southern Methodist University and getting her Master’s Degree from the University of North Texas, Woody taught school in Plano and Dallas.

A voracious reader and book lover, Woody opened bookstores in Plano and Richardson.  Loving to explore, she traveled to many different countries.

Woody and Dave retired to Rockport, Texas, where they were active in the Rockport Yacht Club.  Woody volunteered at the Aransas County Public Library and was a member of the Rockport Writer’s Group.
Proceeded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dave K Davis, Woody is survived by her children, nieces, and nephews.    Woody was a fabulous wit with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh.  A wonderful and much-loved mother who will be greatly missed.
