William "Bill" Torrens

August 25, 1946 — April 12, 2024

William Knox Torrens Jr., of Rockport, TX, peacefully passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Bellevue, PA, on August 25, 1946, William dedicated his life to his family, work, and service to his country.

As a proud veteran of the Army, Bill served his nation with honor for eight- and one-half years, reaching the rank of E-6 before his discharge in 1972. Following his military service, Bill moved to Arkansas where he was a farmer. In 1986, Bill moved his family to San Antonio, TX where he pursued a career in construction and was a respected general contractor known for his keen insights and skillful craftsmanship. In 2013 Bill and Priscilla retired to Rockport, TX.

Away from work, Bill was a devoted husband for over 25 years to Priscilla and a cherished father to Tracy (Brandon) Tate, Charla (Dominic) Milligan and Joey Torrens; Bonus Friend to Michelle Crosland and Holly Crosland, Toby (Stacy) Crosland, Cody (Rachel) Crosland, and Chandra (Tim) Phillips.

He loved being G-Pa to Shelby Tate, Kyndal Tate, Mason Tate, Makenzie Loyd, Kayleigh Loyd, Aidan Loyd, Lauren Milligan, Lindsey Milligan, Aaron Walker, Nick (Kate) Walker, Reese Crosland, Riley Crosland, Brooks Crosland, Hadley Crosland, Cage Crosland, Colton Crosland, Barret Crosland, Graydon Philips, Smith Phillips, and Vera Phillips as well and Great G-Pa to Emma Walker. Each of them brought immense joy and love into his life.

Bill was an experienced poker player, a skilled fisherman, and always one step ahead in everything he did. His wisdom, warmth, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bill never failed to leave a lasting impression on all who met him, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. May his soul find peace and everlasting love in the arms of Jesus.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Lavenia Torrens and bonus son Lanny Crosland.

Forever and a day, you will always be loved.
