William “Bill” L. Martin, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully from natural causes on May 27, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on November 13, 1947, in Corpus Christi, TX, Bill spent his formative years in Aransas Pass, TX, and traveled the country, calling Sinclair, WY; Springfield, MO; and Rawlins, WY home before returning to Aransas Pass. Bill’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering love for family and his passion for southern gospel music. He married Pam Green on December 21, 1971, and later found love again with Rebecca Ayala, to whom he wed on February 5, 1999. He proudly watched as his family grew, and relished every moment spent together – from family gatherings to simple afternoons on the coast, watching ships sail in and out of the Gulf. A dedicated learner, he graduated from Rawlins High School in 1967 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Evangel University in 1974. Throughout his life, he embraced the ties that bind us, creating a legacy that will endure in the hearts of his loved ones. Bill is preceded in death by his parents; Hershel and Cora Martin, sister; Elizabeth Baker and Jeaneen Siirila (Butch).
Bill leaves behind his devoted wife Rebecca, daughter Stacy Barton (Mark), sons Devon Martin (Weston) and Jason Martin, and stepchildren Crystal, Marcus, Shane, and Shayna Ayala. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Alexis Barton, Lauren Barton, Arianna, Ariah, Tony, Ashton, Isabella, Shailee, Shane III, and Shaylynn Snow. He is also survived by his siblings: Hershel Martin Jr. (Diana), Robert Martin (Velma), Barbara Johnson (Johnny), James Martin (Towanda), and sister Leatrice Martin, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will miss him dearly.
Pallbearers; James Martin, Shane Isom, Brennan Roberts, Tashawna Roberts, Karl Roberts and Marcus Ayala.
