Murray Leeper

Murray Almendinger Leeper was born on February 21, 1936 and passed into the hands of the Lord on May 29, 2026. He was a long time resident of Rockport and a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and the Rockport Lions Club.

Murray often described his years on the campus of The Ohio State University, as "some of the happiest times of my life". Hiş activities included Pi Kappa Alpha, Alpha Kappa Psi, Men's Glee Club and orchestrated the appearance of the club on the Ed Sullivan Show. Murray graduated in 1957 with a degree in Business Administration. He became a business entrepreneur and was successful in a myriad of experiences. As an avid fan of the Buckeyes, he loved sharing stories of those years and even had his nurses at his final residence chanting O H I O when they visited.

Prior to settling in Rockport, Murray was a full time RVer and travelled the U.S. He was sharp witted and quick with puns and made friends with everyone he met. He had an engaging sense of humor and was a great storyteller. He will be missed by family members and many friends, especially The Rockport Lions Club and his church family. Murray is survived by two children, a sister and nephews. As per his request, his remains will be distributed in Colorado and Maine.
