Obituary

William Patrick Bannerman, affectionately known as Bill or Willy Pat, passed away on Thursday, August 27th, 2026, at Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi, due to complications arising from pneumonia and his ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Bill, a retired manager from Columbia Steel Casting Company, was 78 years old at the time of his passing. Born in Walla Walla, Washington, Bill was adopted by Bill and Vernice Bannerman. He resided in Portland, Oregon, where he attended Benson High School and later pursued a degree in Metallurgy. Throughout his life, Bill made his home in Rockport, Texas, until his death.

Joining his late wife, Janice Kelsey-Bannerman, in heaven, Bill leaves behind a loving partner in Linda Pelt; and he is survived by his two daughters, Lori Klein and Jamie Lane, three grandchildren, Kyle Lane, Zachary Lane, and Elizabeth Klein, and four great-grandchildren, Bentley, Forrest, Aubrey, and Kannon. Bill shared a close and affectionate bond with his son-in-laws, Kevin Klein and Andy Lane. Bill also leaves behind his sister Cindy Marberry and her husband Loren, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bill possessed a priceless wit and a penchant for playing pranks on others. He enjoyed karaoke, cooking, travel, camping, fishing, boating, and motorcycle riding. Bill also had a passion for woodworking and occasionally worked on his daughter’s cars, though perhaps not with the utmost enthusiasm.

Throughout his life, Bill was a devoted pet lover and will be deeply missed by his cherished companion, Missy.
