W.R. (Bill) Strong

W.R. (Bill) Strong, 95, passed away at his home in Rockport on March 22, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Don T. Strong, and two sisters.  He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Effie Strong, as well as his brother-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Originally from Kentucky, Bill and Effie lived in several states before moving to Rockport 35 years ago when Bill retired from his career as a university professor and school administrator.

During WWII, Bill served in the U.S. Navy.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockport.

A private remembrance and celebration of Bill’s long life, well lived has been held.
