Wendell L. McWilliams, 82, of Rockport, TX went home to be with his Lord &Savior, Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife and dog at his side.
Wendell was born March 3, 1939 in Rotan, TX. He was blessed with four wonderful children, three daughters and a son.
He served his country as a stationary engineer in the Navy for 4 years, where he could tell you the year, days and hours of his service. He was very proud to serve our country.
He met his wife Connie (Littleton) McWilliams in Rockport where they married May 4, 1979. His career was in the oil and gas industry, where he worked 50+ years doing what he loved. After moving several times following his passion for the work he loved, he finally retired in 2016, and soon moved back to Rockport in 2017.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, William B. & Gladys (Price) McWilliams and brother Gene (Christine) McWilliams.
He is survived by his wife Connie of 42 years, brother Adrian (Dana) McWilliams of Alamagorda, NM, daughters Brenda Schindler of Paige. TX, Karen (Ronnie) Gardenshire of Tehoka, TX, Debra (John) Emmons of Henderson and son Brian McWilliams of Lubbock. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Although he didn't get to spend much time with them all, he loved them dearly.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021 at First Baptist Church Rockport at 11:00 with fellowship to follow.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family kindly suggests contributions be made to Altus Hospice in memory of Wendell McWilliams
