Walter Heffner

Walter W. (Pete) Heffner passed away July 17, 2023. He was 89 years old. He was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on July 30, 1933 to Charles and Myrtle Grill.

Pete graduated from Reading High School and served in the Navy from 1951-1956 he served on the Aircraft carrier U.S.S. Boxer (a sister to the Lexington). He married Marilyn (Grill) Heffner on June 13, 1959 and they were happily married for 64 years. Pete worked as a Federal Government Salesman for Motorola for 33 years. He was a member of Galilean Lutheran Church in Corpus Christi; Texas and he had a passion for fishing and his boat (Magic).

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Heffner of Corpus Christi, Texas; children, Halli (Heffner) Szarzynski of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Curtis A. Heffner (Debra) of Buxton, Maine; grandchildren, Megan, Miranda, and Bailey Szarzynski, and Sarah Howard; great grand children, Kendall Bell and Katie Allen; sister, Judith (Grill) Donahue of Reading, Pennsylvania.

Services will be at a later date at Galilean Lutheran Church in Corpus Christi, Texas.
