“Virginia (Hettie) Fulfer, 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in Corpus Christi, TX. Born in Sodville, TX on October 14, 1929, she was the daughter of Hal and Ferne Tilley. She attended nursing school, where she graduated as an LVN, and went on to retire from Heartland Nursing Home.
She was an avid collector, gardener, and crafter; she was also very passionate about her classic westerns. She will be remembered for her humor, feisty attitude, and willingness to whip ass.
Hettie is survived by her children, Larry (Kay) Motes, Jimmy (Angie) Gourley, Brenda (Bill) O’Donnell, Allen (Lois) Motes, Vicky (Dan) Jordan, Cassie (J.D.) Puente, and Brian Fulfer; siblings, Vernice Eakin, Georgie Craig, Shirley Porter, Hal Tilley Jr., Cecil Tilley, and Geneva Kay Green; along with multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings: Edith Howard, Viola Colbertson, and Vermeer David; grandchildren: Shamus Motes, Jack Motes, and Megan O’Donnell Barr; great-grandson: Dustin Heady; and great-great-grandson: Anthem Motes.
The graveside service will be held by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Beebe, AR.”
