Victoria Zapata Acosta,83, of Taft, Texas passed away on January 31, 2022.
Victoria was born on January 12, 1939, to Simon and Guadalupe (Ramirez) Zapata in Kosciusko, Texas. Victoria was lifelong resident of Taft, Texas. She was a homemaker and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She loved dancing, sewing, and gardening along with cooking for family and friends. She also enjoyed watching Mariachi perform and her daily walks.
Preceded in death by her loving husband Juan S. Acosta, parents Simon and Guadalupe Zapata, sisters Leonore Esquivel and Jesusa Linday, brothers Natividad, Antonio and Guadalupe Zapata, son-in-law Jose Angel Lopez, grandchildren Erawyn Galindo and Kimberly Lopez, and son Ramon Lopez.
Survivors include sons Domingo Acosta from Lubbock, Texas, Juan Jose “Johnny” (Nelda) Acosta from Taft, Texas and Benito “Ben” (Celsa) Acosta from Corpus Chishti, Texas; Daughters, Sylvia (Jose) Lopez, Maria (Steve) Galindo, Josephine (Eli) Castillo and Angelina (Rudy) Mendez all from Taft, Texas, 20 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday February 6, 2022 from 1pm till 8pm with a rosary at 7pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Funeral Service will be held Monday February 7, 2022 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial to followed at Lamas Memorial Park.
