Vicki Davison

d. February 26, 2017

On February 26, 2017, the light on earth seemed to dim a little, but the light in Heaven grew brighter as Vicki Roberts Davison and her ever-present smile passed from this life into her eternal glory. Vicki passed away peacefully at her Rockport home in the arms of her loving husband, Buddy Davison, and with her beloved Dexter, her American Eskimo dog, by her side. Vicki was a special lady, touching the hearts of everyone she met. Anybody that had the great fortune of meeting her considered her a friend, a sister, or a mother. Her smile could light up a room yet emanate a calming and nurturing feeling at the same time. Even during her battle with cancer, Vicki was known as a beacon of light who always put everyone else before herself, continuously testifying to her strong faith in God. She will be missed by many as she was deeply and truly loved.

Vicki was born on November 7, 1947, in Galion, Ohio to Victor and Margorie Huguenin. She graduated from Galion Senior High School in 1965 where she was a member of the National Honor Society, was elected to the homecoming court, and served as the team mascot. She continued to serve as a cheerleader at Ohio Northern University and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha social sorority; Kappa Epsilon, pharmaceutical fraternity; Rho Chi, pharmaceutical honorary; Alpha Lambda Delta, women's honorary; Phi Kappa Phi, honorary; Mortar Board, women's senior honorary; Central Board of Governors; the Ohio State Pharmaceutical Association, and the American Pharmaceutical Association. Vicki and her brothers all followed the footsteps of their dad and had careers as pharmacists. Vicki had the distinction of being one of the first women pharmacy graduates from pharmacy school.

Vicki met her first husband, Marvin Kirby Roberts, Jr., while attending Ohio Northern University. They moved to the charming city on the coast that they loved, Rockport, Texas, in 1982, where they raised their two sons. Kirby was an attorney and Vicki worked as a pharmacist at Coastal Bend/North Bay Hospital in Aransas Pass, Texas, until she retired as the Director of Pharmacy in January 2013.

Kirby passed away in 1996, and Vicki remained dedicated to her two sons and to her career. She was active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Rockport/Fulton Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she was a graduate of Leadership Aransas County Class VI and was a proud member of P.E.O.

She married her current husband, Buddy, in 2007. He says she won his heart with her beautiful smile. Vicki joined Buddy in an adventurous lifestyle which included lots of travel abroad and in their new motor home. They participated in such activities as fishing, golfing, zip lining, skydiving, and parasailing. Vicki supported Buddy's love of playing drums in a country/ western band and was by his side for all of his "gigs," including 9 years of closing for Jerry Jeff Walker's shows in Belize. She jokingly referred to herself as Buddy's "groupie." She recently began traveling in a sidecar on Buddy's Harley Davidson with Dexter in her lap. She also loved to read and to play Bunco with her girlfriends. Never one to back down from having fun with friends and family, she had a zest for life and a "let's do it!"' attitude.

Even as Vicki's cancer progressed, she always had a bright smile for everyone. She lived out her faith in God and was a beautiful witness of His love. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and also regularly attended First Baptist Rockport. She enjoyed passing out small wooden crosses for people to keep in their purse or pocket. The inscription reads: TRUST in His timing; RELY on His promises; WAIT for His answers; REJOICE in His goodness; BELIEVE in His miracles; and RELAX in His presence.

Vicki is survived by her husband Jeffrey L. "Buddy" Davison, her two sons Marvin Kirby "Trey" Roberts III, and Justin G. Roberts as well as her brothers Larry (Bonnie) Huguenin and Rick (Debby) Huguenin, her step-sister DeeDee (Bob) Oman, her step-children Todd Davison, Heather Davison, Stephanie (Billy) Revis, and Jennifer (Adam) Flud, her six step-grandchildren, and countless adopted family and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.

Buddy and Vicki's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the amazing care givers from Harbor Hospice. Their tears of grief exemplified their deep compassion for both Vicki and Buddy. Their love and compassion was a solace as they helped transition Vicki from her earthly life to her Heavenly life.

The job of a pharmacist is not needed in Heaven because there is no sickness and no pain. Vicki has earned her rest and the promise of eternity. She will welcome us with her beautiful smile when we one day join her at the greatest reunion of all.
