Tim Ellis

June 24, 1962 — December 13, 2023

Timothy Luke Ellis, friend to all, great neighbor, and loving Dad and Grandfather, passed away at home from an unexpected heart attack on December 13, 2023.

Tim, affectionately known as Bud, Buster, and Spoli, was born on June 24, 1962 in Fort Worth, TX. He was lovingly raised by Dub and Maxine Ellis of Odessa, TX where he was a proud graduate of Permian High School. Go MOJO!

Growing up, Tim was an accomplished athlete, but he excelled in racquetball, and even traveled and played competitively.

Tim had a big personality and an even bigger heart. He created friends wherever he went, drawing people in with his mischievous grin and his Woody Woodpecker laugh. Tim loved Blue Bell ice cream, his Panama Jack hats, and talking oil and gas. He was known for his Good Times Van that he drove, and his accolade as chili cook-off champion.

Tim began his professional life as a welder for Permian Tank before working for more than 20 years as a salesman for M&N Metals.  He went back to school in 2010 to learn the ins and outs of the RV technician world, and promptly started his own RV Technician Business. Being close to the water, whether it be a lake or ocean, was always something Tim cherished, which prompted his move to Aransas Pass, TX in 2013. He continued his work in the RV world, working for Hooked Up RV, and helping neighbors, who lovingly referred to him as "Tool World Tim" with various building projects and repairs.

Tim was always up for a good time, whether it be a family vacation, a ride on his golf cart, or a trip down memory lane. He loved spending time on Lake Brownwood, preferably on his boat pulling his daughters in an inner tube behind it. Tim will be remembered for his kind heart and gentle spirit. He was always willing to help others at the drop of a hat.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his three beloved daughters, Tera Swanson and husband Chris, Teal Ellis, and Taryn Ellis, and his two grandchildren, all of Grapevine, TX. Tim’s memory will be cherished by his sisters, Luanne Ellis Daves and Joanie Ellis Tapley of Valliant, OK and Kathy Greene of Fort Worth, TX, as well as many family members and dear friends.

Tim will be celebrated and remembered with two Celebrations of Life.  The first on January 12, 2024 at 11 am at the Bessie Mitchell House at 411 Ball St, Grapevine Tx. The second event will take place on January 21, 2024 at 1 pm at the VFW at 1452 State Highway 361, Ingleside, TX. All are welcome to attend one or both.
