Obituary

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Taeko Domaschk, who left this world peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in Taiwan and raised in Okinawa, Japan, Taeko embodied a spirit of joy and adventure that touched everyone who knew her.

Taeko was a loving mother to her daughter, Keiko Clark, and grandmother to Lauren Nicole Ashpole, Lindsay Jane Palumbo, and Alexis Miyako Sturgeon, who brought immense pride and happiness to her life. She also cherished the joy of being a great-grandmother to Sophia Palumbo, Orion Palumbo, and Vera Palumbo. Taeko lived a vibrant life filled with passion and creativity. She attended high school at Miyako Jima and went on to embrace a variety of interests, from ballroom dancing and ballet to Tai Chi and Zumba. Her effortless grace spilled over into everything she did, whether she was attending church choir rehearsals or enjoying a game of tennis with friends. Taeko’s kindness, thoughtfulness, and infectious laughter brought her an abundance of friendships—and she always made those around her feel special.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Richard Ziedler, a significant chapter in her life that paved the way for her future. Taeko’s warmth and nurturance will be dearly missed by all. We invite friends and family to come together in celebration of Taeko’s remarkable life.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Texas with a church service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist in Rockport, Texas where we will honor her legacy of love, compassion, and adventure. Let’s celebrate Takeko in a way she would have loved.
