Sue Lehman

January 12, 1937 — February 9, 2023

Sue Ann Lehman went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 9th, 2023 at the age of 86 years old. She passed away in Portland, Texas where she was a resident for 53 years.
Sue Ann was born in San Antonio, Texas in January 1937 to Ruby and Harold White and had one sister, Dixie. She thrived in school and remained close to several of her high school friends throughout her life. She was voted sophomore Princess and was a cheerleader during her high school years. She married Jimmy Budde Lehman in 1953 in San Antonio, Texas and moved to California where Jimmy was serving our country in the U.S. Marine Corp.
Sue Ann attended Del Mar College and continued to earn a Liberal Arts Degree from formerly known Corpus Christi State University.
She volunteered at Driscoll Hospital in Corpus Christi for many years helping sort and deliver gifts to the kids that were receiving treatment. She was known locally for her artistic abilities. She painted the Welcome to Portland mural in 1976 as Portland celebrated the Bi-centennial of our Nation. She was frequently found at the Art Center and the downtown Corpus area.
She loved to travel and always seemed to have a trip planned with friends to visit New York, Italy, Spain, or Venice to indulge in the culture and museums or visit the ruins of cultures of the past.
Sue Ann was actively involved with First Baptist Church of Portland for over 50 years. She was a child of God and participated in bible studies, vacation bible school, Young at heart, and any other opportunities that allowed her to serve and share the word of God.
Sue Ann is survived by her sister, Dixie Bradbury and her five children, Tracy Lehman, Jimmy Lehman (Ju), Robert Lehman (Debbie Simmons), Christie Mauch (Michael Mauch), Jennifer Fish, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Lehman, and her parents, Ruby and Harold White.
The life of Sue Ann will be celebrated in a private ceremony by her family.
