Stephen Long

Stephen Robert Long was born on a farm in Kosciusko County, Indiana on March 3, 1933 and was the third son. He graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Science
in 1955. After 6 months with Bethlehem Steel, he served three years in the Air Force as a navigator. He returned to Bethlehem and worked in New York City and then Houston, Tx where he retired in 1985.

Steve & Barbara, the love of his life, were married in 1975 and combined two wonderful familics of 6 children. They moved to Rockport in 1991 and truly loved the town.

Playing golf was his great delight having picked up the game while caddying in Jr. High School.

Steve is survived by his wife, Barbara and his six children, Randal Long of Albuquerque, NM, Douglas Long of Cedar Park, TX, Sharon Fry of Lubbock, TX, Blair Knies of Wimberley, TX, Fred Knies of Houston, TX,

William Knies of Houston, TX and many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 555 Enterprise Blvd., Rockport on Saturday 1/29/22 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be mailed to St. Peter's Episcopal Church; Post Office Box 1807 in Rockport, TX 78381.
