Stephen Frye

Stephen W. Frye, 82, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025. Born on April 23, 1943, in Winchester, Massachusetts, Stephen grew up in New England, and spent many of his childhood years on Deer Island, NB. He graduated from Malden Vocational High School in 1960 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam conflict in the United States Air Force before embarking on a long and successful career as a consulting engineer with Honeywell and Bull of France.

Stephen is survived by his daughter, Darcy (Brad) Messinger of San Marcos, TX, son, Michael (Jodi) Frye of Kerrville, TX, and their mother, Kathleen Frye of Kyle, TX; grandchildren Madeleine Huggins, Luke Gunderson, Caitlin (Colin) Campbell, Jamie Messinger, Max Messinger, and great-grandchild Colter Campbell of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Daisy (James) Barry of St. George, NB and Noranne (Gilbert) Stuart of Deer Island, NB, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Raymond Frye and Norah Gaddess Frye; grandparents, Herbert and Daisy Frye; brothers, George Frye and Raymond Frye, and sisters, Mary Leslie and Judy Frye.

Stephen was a loving father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with family and friends in New Brunswick and Texas. He found great joy in sailing, hunting, live music, traveling the world, and will be remembered always for his sharp mind, warm humor, adventurous heart, and generous spirit in helping others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and whose lives were touched by him.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Vietnam Veterans of America.
