Shirley Benningfield

It is with both heavy hearts and joyful memories that we announce the passing of Shirley Fay Benningfield on January 18, 2026, in Rockport, TX. Born on August 11, 1949, to Wilton and Nettie Hahn, Shirley lived a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Married to the love of her life, James Ray Benningfield, on January 26, 1968, Shirley was a devoted wife and mother, who poured her heart into raising her two wonderful children, Stefani Garcia and James Benningfield. Shirley's legacy continues through her four cherished grandchildren: Jackson Allen, Jason Garcia Jr., Jonathan Garcia, and Chelsea Kent. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, brightening the world with the same warmth and kindness she shared. Shirley is also remembered fondly by her siblings—brothers Dalton (Donna) Hahn, Ronnie (Dawn) Hahn, and sisters Ann Jeffcoat and Pamela White. Together, they created a tapestry of laughter, support, and family traditions that will forever be woven into the hearts of those who knew and loved her. 

While we mourn her loss, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with adventure, friendship, and a fair share of mischief that would bring a smile to anyone’s face. Shirley had a way of making every gathering feel special, and her spirit will undoubtedly live on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish.
