Sally Jeanine Mcgill

November 20, 1948 — June 20, 2023

Rockport

On June 20, 2023, at 74 years old, Sally Jeannine McGill passed away with her husband Michael at her side.

Born in Wisconsin, Sally moved to California at 5 years old and had a lifelong love of the ocean. She lived in many places in her life including northern and southern California, British Columbia Canada and Honduras before settling in Texas. But no matter where she lived, the ocean was always nearby.

Sally was a fun, spunky woman who liked to laugh and made many close friends over the years. She moved to British Columbia when she was in her 20s and had her two children there: Chloe Morrow and Nate Morrow. From there she moved to Cardiff-by-the-Sea in southern California where she ran her own café for many years. She later moved to Port Aransas, with a brief stop-over in Honduras for a year, where she worked in the restaurant industry and did taxes on the side. She was a math wiz and loved to do puzzles.

Port Aransas is where she met her husband, Michael McGill. Sally and Michael were married on May 8, 2001. When Michael and Sally retired, they moved to Rockport and Sally spent her time swimming, spending time with friends, enjoying the beach and spoiling her dog. Sally loved her dogs and had many beloved companions over the years. In her retirement, Sally continued her love of animals, volunteering at the Humane Society of Rockport/Fulton.

Sally will be deeply missed by her family including daughter Chloe Morrow, husband Michael McGill, sister Susan McCargar and grandchildren Ethan Morrow, Tavio Morrow, Maia Morrow & Kate Morrow. Sally will be remembered in a gathering on Friday June 23 at Roberts Point Park at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcome in her name to the Humane Society and Adoption Center of Rockport Fulton.
